WELCOME TO SUMMERHILL CONSTRUCTION

JCA have a long relationship of working with Summerhill Construction. Summerhill have recently completed the conversion of the former Cork Savings Bank to an Executive School of Business for University College Cork and the Irish Management Institute (IMI). This project demonstrated Summerhill’s capability of dealing with complex protected structures, while also constructing a contemporary intervention in a very confined city centre site.

It is my pleasure to provide this letter of reference for Summerhill Construction Co. Ltd. The company has carried out various works in the properties within Trigon Hotels (Cork Airport Hotel, Cork International Hotel & The Metropole Hotel) and we have found them to be reliable and professional in terms of the services they have provided. Summerhill Construction have accommodated our hotels’ requirements to be live working hotels whilst major works were carried out.

I have worked with Summerhill Construction for many years – originally in relation to the refurbishment of Fitzgerald House for Cork Chamber, more recently in the refurbishment of our Motor Dealership in Douglas, and the construction of our 2 new motor dealerships in Bishopstown. Throughout our relationship, I have found Summerhill to be an organisation which is positive, true to its word, and entirely focused on delivering the best outcome for the client.

We confirm that we provided cost control and quantity surveying services on a number of projects over the past thirty years, where the main contractor was Summerhill Construction Co. Ltd. In our experience, the supervision of the works by the various contracts managers and foremen that we have met has been a major contributor to the success of the projects.

The Capital Projects Office in University College Cork have worked with Summerhill Construction Co. Ltd. on several projects over the past number of years. These projects include flood protection works for our high-tech Tyndall National Institute facility and the recently completed refurbishment of the Cork Savings Bank at 1 Lapp’s Quay. Indeed, the project in 1 Lapp’s Quay was a noteworthy success for the UCC Buildings and Estates Office.
